Hollywood DJ is a Los Angeles-based specialist in DJ equipment and pro audio gear, run by industry experts with 26 years of experience. The store focuses exclusively on DJ controllers, mixers, speakers, lighting, cases, and related accessories for professionals and recording artists.

Who Hollywood DJ Serves

Hollywood DJ caters to DJ professionals, recording artists, and serious hobbyists who need reliable equipment. The store is built by DJs for DJs—the owner, Allan Sham, and his team have spent decades in the industry and stock gear specifically chosen for professional use. If you're looking for advice from people who understand the craft, not just sales staff, this is the positioning. The store avoids the generalist approach of retailers that sell DJ gear alongside consumer electronics or musical instruments.

Product Range and Equipment Types

Hollywood DJ stocks a wide selection of DJ equipment across multiple categories. You'll find DJ controllers, professional mixers, powered and passive speakers, subwoofers, lighting fixtures, microphone systems, DJ cases for transport and protection, and mount accessories. Example products in their current inventory include the dB Technologies DVX DM12 Active Stage Monitor (USD 1906.20), the dB Technologies SUB 918 18-inch Active Subwoofer (USD 2149.99), DiGiCo digital audio interface cards, and Blizzard Lighting UV LED blacklight fixtures. The range spans entry-level to high-end professional gear.

Pricing and Equipment Investment

Prices at Hollywood DJ range from USD 39 to USD 10,892, reflecting a mix of small accessories, mid-range gear, and professional-grade systems. For example, the Elation Lighting HWP202 hardwire plate accessory costs USD 85.00, while flagship items like subwoofers and digital audio interface cards land in the USD 1000–2200 range. The store emphasizes quality and professional-grade components rather than budget alternatives, so expect mid-to-premium pricing typical of specialized pro audio retailers.

What to Know Before You Order

The About page mentions that Hollywood DJ sales are protected, though complete return and warranty details are not fully outlined in the available information. Before placing an order, confirm the specific return window, warranty coverage, and whether restocking fees apply—especially important for high-value items. Shipping policies and timeframes are also worth checking, as DJ equipment can be heavy and bulky. Contact Hollywood DJ directly if you have questions about your specific purchase or need expert guidance on which gear suits your setup.

Why Choose a Specialized DJ Retailer

Hollywood DJ distinguishes itself by focusing exclusively on DJ and pro audio equipment rather than spreading attention across general consumer electronics or instruments. The team's 26 years of industry experience means staff can answer technical questions and recommend the right gear for your workflow. Being locally based in Los Angeles and independently owned—not part of a larger corporation—also means decisions are made with DJs' needs in mind rather than corporate margins.
