I Did Not Inherit The Name. I inherited the way he saw the world. The Visionary Louis Cartier is my great-great-grandfather. I never met him. He died decades before I was born, and the name left the family before I was old enough to know what it meant. So what came down to me was not a business or a title. It was a temperament. I recognized it in myself long before I understood where it came from. HE SOLVED A PROBLEM NO ONE ELSE WAS TRYING TO SOLVEAt the turn of the last century, diamonds were set in silver over gold. Silver tarnished against the skin and it was soft, so the settings had to be thick to hold a stone safely. Thick settings covered the diamond and blocked the light. Everyone accepted this. It was simply how a ring was made. Louis did not accept it. He went looking for a metal that could hold a stone without smothering it, and he found platinum, which at the time was barely used in jewelry at all. It was harder to work, and it needed tools and techniques that did not yet exist in the trade. He said later that he only worked out how to adapt it after studying the springs and frames of railway sleeping cars. That is the detail I keep coming back to. A jeweler solving a jeweler's problem by looking at engineering. Not at other jewelers. Paris First 1993 Dousset’s personal legacy began at the global epicenter of high jewelry: Place Vendôme in Paris with Chaumet—the official jeweler of Emperor Napoleon. 1996 He took on an apprenticeship with the renowned French jewelry designer Boucheron, the last family descendant to direct the jewelry house. 2001 Dousset joined th

About Jean Dousset
Jean Dousset specializes in lab-grown diamonds and fine jewelry with roots tracing back to Louis Cartier's innovation in platinum setting. The store offers a curated range of diamond pieces from entry-level to luxury price points.
Why Jean Dousset Matters to Diamond Buyers
Jean Dousset solves a core problem for shoppers seeking diamonds without the traditional markups or ethical concerns of mined stones. The brand carries multiple diamond product lines—Ecostones, JAS Diamond, SkyLab, WC Diamond, and others—each addressing different quality tiers and customer priorities. Lab-grown diamonds offer the same optical and chemical properties as mined diamonds while typically commanding lower prices. For buyers weighing quality against cost, this range eliminates the false choice between authenticity and affordability. The store's positioning emphasizes transparency in diamond sourcing and setting craftsmanship, drawing on a design lineage that dates back over a century. Whether you're shopping for an engagement ring or a standalone statement piece, Jean Dousset presents options across a clear price spectrum.
How Jean Dousset Organizes Its Diamond Range
The brand structures its inventory by diamond source and treatment method rather than by price alone. Ecostones Diamond leads the catalog with 154 products, followed by JAS Diamond with 46 items and SkyLab Diamond with 17 pieces. Smaller specialized collections—WC Diamond (10 items), Engagement Ring (9), FGD Diamond (8), and Nivoda Diamond (6)—let shoppers narrow down by specific attributes or use case. This organization reflects the technical distinctions that matter to informed diamond buyers: different labs and processes yield subtly different characteristics in color, clarity, and fluorescence. The store's real pricing spans USD 2,800 to USD 20,400 across roughly 250 products, meaning you can find entry-level solitaire pieces as well as elaborate multi-stone designs. Shopping by product line rather than generic categories helps buyers understand exactly what they're paying for and why.
