Shopping for Your First Sim Rig

Thesimconsultants specializes in custom-built racing simulators tailored to your setup and budget. The brand handles the entire process from design through installation, with on-site setup and training available to get you comfortable with your new rig. Their catalog spans entry-level to professional-grade equipment, meaning whether you're testing the waters or building a competition-ready cockpit, there's something in their range. Worldwide shipping ensures international customers aren't left out, though delivery times and costs will depend on your location. The website is straightforward to navigate, with product categories clearly laid out and detailed descriptions of what each simulator package includes. Customer support appears responsive to custom requests, which matters when you're investing in a bespoke racing setup. First-time buyers often benefit most from the consultation aspect of their service—they'll help you understand what specs actually matter for your driving style rather than overselling unnecessary features.

Where Your Money Goes on Custom Builds

When you purchase from Thesimconsultants, you're paying for three things: the physical hardware (frame, cockpit, wheel base, pedals, shifter, VR headset if included), the engineering and assembly labor to build it correctly, and access to their expertise in setup and configuration. Unlike buying individual components separately and assembling them yourself, a turn-key rig arrives ready to use. This bundled approach eliminates compatibility headaches and the risk of misconfiguring expensive equipment. Their on-site setup service, where available, adds labor costs but saves time and ensures your rig performs optimally from day one. Training sessions teach you how to extract the most from your simulator, which translates to better lap times and a faster learning curve in competitive racing. Pricing reflects the bespoke nature of the work—custom builds cost more than off-the-shelf solutions, but you're not paying for unnecessary features. The value proposition is strongest if you value time, support, and confidence that everything will work seamlessly together out of the box.

Do I need racing experience to order a simulator?

No. Thesimconsultants designs rigs for beginners through professionals. Their consultation process asks about your goals, driving style, and budget to recommend the right setup. Training is available to help you get started even if you've never raced in a simulator before.

What's included in the on-site setup service?

On-site setup typically covers assembly, calibration, cable management, and initial configuration of your rig. Training sessions teach you how to use the equipment effectively and troubleshoot common settings. Availability depends on your location, so confirm with support before purchase.

How long does a custom rig take to arrive?

Lead times for custom builds vary based on complexity and current order volume. Standard custom rigs typically take 2–4 weeks from order to dispatch. Worldwide shipping adds another 1–3 weeks depending on destination. Contact Thesimconsultants directly for an exact timeline on your specific build.
