The brand describes itself as a leader in planar magnetic technology. It suits buyers after reference-grade sound rather than budget consumer headphones, and the parts listings help current owners repair gear instead of replacing it.

Audeze specializes in planar magnetic headphones and audio equipment for professional engineers, gamers, and audiophiles. Their product range spans wireless gaming headsets, reference-grade studio monitors, in-ear models, and replacement parts.

Planar Magnetic Technology

Audeze built its reputation on planar magnetic driver technology, which the brand positions as a foundation for precise audio reproduction. This approach differs from conventional dynamic drivers and is designed to deliver low distortion and detailed soundstage. The technology appears across their flagship models, from gaming headsets like the Maxwell 2 ANC Wireless Gaming Headset (USD 429.00) to professional studio references like the MM-520 Professional Headphones (USD 1699.00). The brand emphasizes this engineering as key to their sound signature.

Product Range and Use Cases

Audeze offers eight distinct product categories: headphones, gaming headphones, in-ear models, ear pads, cables, headbands, parts, and accessories. Their lineup includes wireless gaming options with active noise cancellation, wired professional studio monitors, and portable in-ear monitors for content creators and musicians. Replacement parts like ear pads (USD 125.00), headbands (USD 80.00–USD 200.00), and aftermarket cables allow owners to customize or restore their headsets. This breadth makes Audeze relevant to both casual gamers and working professionals.

Pricing and Product Tiers

Audeze's catalog ranges from USD 10 (cable or small parts) to USD 3499 (flagship studio models). Mid-range options like the Maxwell 2 ReSkin (USD 49.99) offer affordable entry points for existing users, while professional-grade monitors command premium pricing. The Maxwell 2 ANC Wireless Gaming Headset at USD 429.00 sits in the high-end gaming category. This tiered structure means there are options for budget-conscious buyers seeking replacement parts as well as professionals willing to invest in reference-grade equipment.

What to Know Before Ordering

Audeze sells direct from their website and also serves professional users who resell Audeze products. Customers should verify whether they need a complete headset, replacement parts for an existing model, or accessories before purchase. Gaming headsets and studio monitors serve different purposes—gaming models emphasize wireless convenience and comfort during long sessions, while professional headphones target mixing and mastering work. Check product descriptions carefully to confirm compatibility with your existing Audeze gear if ordering parts or upgrades.

What is planar magnetic technology?

Planar magnetic drivers use a thin diaphragm suspended between magnets to produce sound. Audeze claims this design delivers lower distortion and more detailed imaging than conventional dynamic drivers, making it ideal for critical listening and professional audio work.

Are Audeze headphones suitable for gaming?

Yes. The Maxwell 2 ANC Wireless Gaming Headset (USD 429.00) is designed specifically for gaming with active noise cancellation, wireless connectivity, and a built-in microphone. It combines Audeze's audio technology with gaming-focused comfort and features.

Can I replace ear pads and headbands?

Yes. Audeze sells official replacement ear pads (USD 125.00) and headbands (USD 80.00–USD 200.00) through their website. This allows you to refresh worn components or customize your headset without purchasing an entirely new unit.

What's the price difference between gaming and professional models?

Gaming headsets like Maxwell 2 start at USD 429.00, while professional studio monitors like the MM-520 (USD 1699.00) cost significantly more. Professional models prioritize reference accuracy; gaming models balance audio quality with comfort and wireless convenience.

Many Audeze models, especially higher-impedance professional monitors, benefit from a dedicated amplifier for optimal performance. Gaming headsets and portable models are more lenient, but check your specific model's specifications on the Audeze website.
