Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Found Good ("we", "us") collects when you use thefoundgood.com, including our fiction library at thefoundgood.com/stories, and how we use it.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: when you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see your plain-text password).
Content you submit: comments you post and reactions you leave.
Purchase records: when you unlock paid chapters we keep a record of what you unlocked, tied to your account. Payment itself is processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not receive or store your full card number.
Usage data: like most websites, we use analytics (Google Analytics) and server logs that collect information such as pages visited, approximate location from IP address, browser type, and device type.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to operate the Site, keep you signed in, deliver the chapters you unlock, display your comments, understand which stories readers enjoy, prevent fraud and abuse, and respond when you contact us. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your reading progress, and Google Analytics cookies to measure site usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, but you may need to sign in again. You can also opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
4. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site — hosting, authentication and database services, payment processing, and analytics — and only as needed for them to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of The Found Good or others.
5. Data Retention
We keep account information and purchase records while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable time, except records we must keep for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@thefoundgood.com from the address linked to your account and we will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, server-side access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
